Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Meetility collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and the control you have over it. We’ve written it in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@meetility.ae.
The short version: we collect what the product needs to work — your account details, your interests, your approximate location for event discovery, and your messages — and we don’t sell any of it.
What data does Meetility collect?
Account and contact information. When you sign up, we collect the basics needed to create and secure your account: your name, email address and/or phone number, password, and optionally a profile photo and short bio. Your profile can be set to private, in which case people must send a follow request to see it.
Your interests. Meetility is built on interest-based matching, so we store the interests you pick (sports, tech, food, languages, and so on). These power your event and people suggestions — the more precisely you set them, the better the suggestions get.
Location. We use your city and, if you allow it, your device’s approximate location to show you nearby events and sort suggestions by distance. Location permission is optional; without it, you can still browse events by city.
Messages and event activity. We store the messages you send in event group chats and one-to-one conversations, your event joins and RSVPs, the events you host, your ratings, and the photos you share to an event’s memories. Memories photos are approved by the event host and visible to the people who attended.
Payments. If you buy a ticket to a paid event, the payment is processed securely by our payment providers. We keep a record of the transaction — event, amount, and status — so you and the host have a receipt.
Technical data. Like most apps, we collect basic device and usage information (device type, app version, crash logs) to keep Meetility fast and fix bugs.
How do we use your data?
- To run the product: show you relevant events, deliver your messages, manage joins and tickets, and let hosts run their events.
- To match you: your interests and location drive suggestions of events and people with the most overlap with you.
- To keep the community safe: verified hosts, ratings, and reports depend on account data; we review reported content and accounts.
- To communicate with you: service messages about your events (join approvals, changes, reminders) and, only if you opt in, product updates.
- To improve Meetility: aggregated, non-identifying usage data tells us what’s working.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don’t show third-party ad tracking inside the app.
Who can see your data?
- Other members see what you choose to show: your public profile (or a private one behind follow requests), your messages in chats you’re part of, and memories from events you attended.
- Event hosts see the profile information of people who request to join their event, so they can approve or decline.
- Service providers — hosting, payments, analytics, and crash reporting — process data on our behalf under contracts that limit them to exactly that.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose data if the law genuinely requires it, and only what’s required.
That’s the full list. No data brokers, no advertisers.
How long do we keep your data?
For as long as your account exists. Event content that others depend on — group chat messages, memories photos — stays with the event so the group’s history remains intact. Transaction records are kept as long as accounting rules require.
What are your rights?
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile, interests, and settings directly in the app at any time.
- Deletion. You can delete your account yourself, in the app, under account settings — no email or support ticket needed. Deletion removes your profile and personal data from the platform; we may retain transaction records where the law requires it.
- Location and notifications. Both are device permissions you can revoke at any time in your phone’s settings.
- Questions and complaints. Email hello@meetility.ae and we’ll respond within two business days.
Children
Meetility is not directed at children. You must meet the minimum age in our terms of service to create an account, and we remove accounts that don’t.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top and notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use of Meetility after that means you accept the updated policy.
